At Turnitin Connect, your privacy isn't just an afterthought—it's engineered into the core of our Scanner. We built Turnitin Connect because we believe students shouldn't have to choose between powerful AI capabilities and keeping their proprietary text secure.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create or modify your account, request customer support, or communicate with us. This includes your name, email address, and billing information (processed securely via Stripe).

2. Diagnostics and Analytics

By default, Turnitin Connect collects basic usage diagnostics (e.g., app crashes, feature usage frequencies) to help us improve the product. We explicitly DO NOT collect the contents of your files, the text you write, or the specific queries you send to the AI in our diagnostics.

3. How We Process AI Requests

When you trigger an AI scan or query, your prompt is routed via encrypted TLS 1.3 to our stateless routing server. The routing server evaluates your subscription status, logs your token count for billing purposes, and forwards the prompt to the specified AI model provider (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google).

4. Zero Retention Policy

We enforce zero-retention agreements with our enterprise AI provider partners. This means your data is processed strictly in volatile memory and is purged immediately after output generation. It is never used to train global AI models.

5. Your Rights & Choices

You may request full deletion of your account and associated billing history at any time by contacting support@turnitinconnect.com. All associated session logs will be permanently scrubbed within 30 business days.
